Massive tiger shark caught off Martha's Vineyard

massive tiger shark boston vineyard

Pictured to the right is actually a small Tiger Shark, weighing in at a mere 1100 pounds. It was caught off Martha's Vineyard during the Boston Big Game Fishing Club's 19th Annual Monster Shark event. Report here. As noted, this little shark was disqualified because they got back to Oak Bluffs harbor 6 minutes late. Despite the fact that this shark only weighs a half a ton, none of the winners even came close.

Note that some of these Galeocerdo cuvier can reach up to a ton and 23' long.

Dude this shark is huge, its kinda scary that something can possibly get this big. And they live in the same waters that every day tons of thousands of people swim.
