Giant tuna, giant problem

giant bluefin tuna

WPVI reports (with video) that on July 9, 2005 Dan Dillon caught an 873-pound bluefin tuna near Bethany Beach in Delaware. He was visiting from Herndon VA.

Dillon now has a problem that many of us would love to have: what to do with all that fish. Because he doesn't have a federal license to sell the meat, he's had to give most of it away.

In fact, it took three hours for three people to reduce it to 500 lbs. of meat, which he's since divided between himself, his friends, and the ship's crew.

This is the largest bluefin caught in DE, and Dillon will no doubt be enjoying it for years to come...
